If you have had sex or if you are experiencing common symptoms associated with STDs, then you may want to get tested. Some general symptoms of an STD include sores on the genitals, discharge from the penis or vagina, itching and burning during urination. Since many infections do not cause any symptoms, it would be in your best interest to be treated by a trained professional at Choices Pregnancy Care Center.
How the testing is performed
There are a couple of different ways to be treated for an STD. For chlamydia and gonorrhea, the testing is performed with a urine sample. These samples are taken and sent to a laboratory located in Texas. Results from the test are confidentially emailed to us within 48 hours.
For herpes and HIV, testing is performed by pricking a finger and drawing blood. Test results for this can come back in as little as 10 minutes.
